Mindfulness Meditation Courses

 Whether you are dealing with chronic stress, illness, issues stemming from imbalance in your life or simply wanting to incorporate a great wellness practice in your daily life, one of the things that can really help is to include the “reset” offered by mindfulness meditation.


Mindfulness meditation is a very potent way to support yourself. It gives both body and mind a break from living in “the Red Zone” of stress and overwhelm - an antidote of sorts. 

There are now over 4000 published research articles attesting to the therapeutic benefits of meditation for a wide range of physical and psychological conditions and its compatibility and synergy with most other forms of treatment.

So what is mindfulness? Believe it or not, it’s simply the practice of paying attention to what is happening around and inside us, without trying to analyse or change any of it. Mindfulness meditation (usually done with the eyes closed to shut out visual distractions) is a pathway to developing the wonderful skill of being mindful as you go about your daily life with your eyes open.

We now know that it stabilizes the mind, creates more peace of mind, lessens fear and makes the immune system function better. It turns us into better communicators, parents, friends and partners. It also helps us to enjoy life more.

Mindfulness- Based Stillness Meditation (MBSM) is a mindfulness technique recognized internationally by leaders in the field. It was developed at the Gawler Institute in Australia – an organisation famous for improving recovery outcomes and quality of life for people affected by cancer and other illness.

What's involved?
These courses offer a thorough grounding in the what, why and how of this incredibly effective style of mindfulness.  Beginning with meditation (an eyes-closed form of mindfulness in a quiet setting) is an excellent way to develop the skills and habits that allow you to later practice mindfulness with your eyes open as you go about your daily life.
Each 2 hour class involves a mix of discussion, teaching and practice - beginning with very short simple practices. Each week builds on the previous one, so that by the end of the course, you have a robust basis for a beneficial personal practice.

Just in case you're wondering... we sit in regular chairs to meditate.  Although some people prefer to sit on the floor, sitting in a chair is equally effective and much more comfortable for most people!
And although closing your eyes also helps as it shuts out visual distractions, it is not vital.  What's most important is that you are comfortable and relaxed however you approach the meditation.

Two teachers come together to bring you a powerful event that will change the way you think about bodies, diets and exercise.
Liz Weatherly (Louise Hay Coach) and Nikki Williams (Fitness Industry expert) have combined their knowledge and skills and created a workshop especially for women who want a sense of hope, choice, clarity and freedom when it comes to their bodies and themselves.
It's about moving from "I can't - it's all too hard" to feeling freedom to find and embrace a whole new self-supporting way to look after yourself.

In this day - and - a - half - long workshop, we'll share valuable ideas, gathered during years in our respective fields, about the necessity of being compassionate towards yourself, of listening to your inner wisdom, of realising that you truly have a choice, and of understanding that if we look after our mind it helps us to look after our body - just as much as looking after our body helps to look after our mind.

At the end of the workshop you will have moved, you will have grooved, you will have reflected, shared, laughed (and probably cried!), you will have a whole new take on where to from here when it comes to your body.

1.  Moderate exercise is recommended as part of this programme. Participants may be recommended to check with their medical practitioner before engaging in greater levels of physical exercise.

You are probably here because you are looking for positive change. 

What draws people to coaching is the want or need to develop confidence with new ways of being: being empowered, being hopeful and being satisfied in their own life.
Because  (in short) you want to be self- determining. You want to feel like you are in charge of your own life, feelings and experiences. 
You've realized you've been taking a scatter-gun approach to solving your problems or achieving your goals because you don't really know how to achieve this for yourself (or are finding it very hard to get started) . So you go looking for someone or something to help - that's where a Coach comes in.

Mindfulness and mindset are two very powerful tools to utilize as you go from this place of frustration - feeling stifled and unhappy - to experiencing tangible movement towards your goals.


With mindfulness and mindset coaching, as you learn to be able to be more mindful, startling realizations begin to occur... you start to see how caught up in negativity you may have been... you recognise that what looked like a tolerable situation is really disempowering you without you having realised... you discover that you've been bottling up emotions forever, and consequently missing out on the important messages that they have for you (and the ability to experience all the emotions that you WANT to feel).

With growing mindfulness you also start to have new ideas and clarity about what you need to do to support yourself, and to eliminate old, self-sabotaging behaviours.  People often also experience that stuff that has been 'stuck' for years, starts to move, without you even having really been focusing on it. 

Another name for mindfulness is "Awareness". When you have self awareness you have a superpower that enables you to get very clear about what is standing between you and your happiness. 


In fact, right now your goals may be very modest... a want to solve an immediate problem, a desire to stop "putting up with it" or living with a "band-aid" mentality (do anything to not rock the boat or move you or anyone else out of your comfort zone).   However, small goals are like focusing on something right in front of your face. They obscure your view of the big picture... the cool, inspiring, deeply fulfilling things that are available to you when you have the courage and commitment to first of all heal, and then look beyond your present experience.

As you learn to be more mindful, startling realizations begin to occur... you start to see how caught up in negativity you have been... you recognise that what looked like a tolerable situation is really disempowering you without you having realised... you discover that you've been bottling up emotions forever, and consequently missing out on the important messages that they have for you.

One to one coaching

A key aim, whatever the changes you want to make, is to enable you to become more self loving and self accepting, as without this, everything else you do will be less effective. Each coaching session assists you to tap into your own knowledge about yourself, in a way that you may never have done before, so that you can quickly come to realizations about what is standing between you and your goals.

Of course, all of this requires time and commitment on your part. Liz offers her expertise in self love mastery, mindfulness and mindset transformation, and will assist you to identify the beliefs and attitudes that are keeping you from your goals (and their origins). She will devise very specific strategies and teach you effective skills with which to move forward. She will enable you to connect deeply with your inner wisdom, so that it becomes your biggest ally.  YOUR contribution is to do the work - to practice, to reflect and to take action.  No Action = No Change! (Kind of like going to the gym but not doing a workout and expecting to get fit and strong regardless!)

You'll see that there are three options for working with Liz: 3 months, 6 months or 12 months (meeting every fortnight).  Realistically, 3 months is the minimum time it takes to create robust and tangible change. Effective coaching deals with not only what's on the surface but what's underneath, and it takes time (and practice) for new patterns of thinking and behaviour to be integrated.

We'll set up a time for an initial meeting (which can be in person, by phone or online)  Over this hour or so, we explore the current challenge and obstacles as you see them,  tap into your vision for yourself and explore the specific results that you want. Everyone knows that success, prosperity and abundance are not really achieved through hard work. But not everyone knows that how they're achieved is by understanding that they are available to everyone and that you deserve them just as much as anyone else.  You could call it mindfulness about money!

When you hold believe that you deserve and are capable of being prosperous and experiencing abundance you become able to  have better experiences with money and more of every other wonderful thing in your life!

Using Louise Hay’s profound and transformational approaches to life and how to tap into our personal power, I will work with you during this six week course to develop a “prosperity and abundance consciousness” and refocus your thinking to a place where you become more and more aware of the abundance that is occurring in your life.  

Create and manifest prosperity in every part of your life!  If you are concentrating on debt, a sense of lack, unpaid bills, negativity about money and fear of the future, it will be very hard for you to feel that your life is abundant.  Your experience of life is a reflection of what you believe about yourself and the world – but what you believe is only thoughts and thoughts can be changed.
