Mindset coaching is about helping you to make positive changes, to confidently develop new, self- empowered ways of being and to work towards better health through utilising the connection between body and mind. The difficulties we run into when we are trying to change are created in part by the thoughts, emotions and experiences that we persistently hold on to… the thoughts that tell us that we are incapable of or not worthy of the very thing that we aspire to be, do or have; the fear or anger about having to do things differently or the inventory of disappointments we attribute to our self. Mindset coaching focusses on developing awareness, the ability to see yourself holistically, to experience your inner wisdom and your actual capability. It promotes the ability to be self-accepting (which is not at all about being defeatist or soft but a vital component of any long-lasting positive change). It is action and solutions-focused for you. It's perfect for the person who is willing to take the courageous journey, with someone (me) to challenge and cheerlead as you move forward. Want to know more? MindfulnessWhether you are dealing with chronic stress, illness, issues stemming from imbalance in your life or simply feel the need for a way to give yourself time out to reconnect with what’s really important, one of the things that can be very helpful is to include some kind of regular “breathing space” in your day. Mindfulness meditation is a very potent way to do this – to give both body and mind a break from living in “the Red Zone” of stress and overwhelm.
Mindfulness is also a wonderful tool for developing the ability to be more accepting and compassionate towards yourself – a vital skill if you are ceaselessly self- critical, suffering stress, sleep disturbance, health issues, unhappy relationships and emotional distress as a result. Contrary to popular opinion, self -acceptance doesn’t make us lazy, weak or selfish, it actually makes us more able to understand that everyone experiences challenges from time to time, and the value of treating both ourselves and others with kindness and understanding and taking a healthier perspective about our problems. The Mindfulness Meditation that I teach is called Mindfulness- Based Stillness Meditation (MBSM), a technique recognized internationally by leaders in the field. It was developed at the Gawler Institute in Australia – an organisation famous for improving recovery outcomes and quality of life for people affected by cancer and other chronic illness. MBSM is suitable for everyone, whether you have previous Meditation or Mindfulness experience or not. You can either attend a 6-week (2 hours a week) course or arrange private classes. Whichever you choose, you learn all what, why and how of this highly effective and very achievable practice. With a focus on skills and practice, by the end you will have a solid foundation for an ongoing, satisfying daily habit that will really enhance your wellbeing. Group Workshops and CoursesLearning via a Group Workshop or Course is a wonderful way to learn, to get new ideas and practice skills. When you are part of one of my group learning experiences, as well as the interactive and practical learning you do, you also benefit vastly from hearing other participants’ thoughts and experiences and from supporting and being supported by the group.
Group learning is a really economical way to have access to self – development and because the groups are small (usually no more than 12 – 15 participants) there is lots of opportunity to receive person input. Just imagine spending two or three days with a wonderful group of like-minded people, rediscovering your own wisdom and healing your self- belief. Or meeting them every week for 6 weeks to learn and explore the magic of mindfulness meditation. It’s a great way to grow your tribe! My most popular workshop is a two-day Heal Your Life Intensive where you learn and put into practice all the fundamentals of the Louise Hay method, including emotions work, forgiveness, body-mind work, positive affirmations and much more. My most popular course is a six-week Mindfulness Meditation course, where you learn what Mindfulness is, explore the way our mind works and through frequent practice get to experience how you can respond with more ease to your thoughts and emotions, alleviate your own stress and come to inner stillness. Whatever your experience level I ensure that you feel safely able to get the most out of the course that you can. Because there is lots of hands-on content, after a workshop or course you find that your new skills and ideas easily become incorporated in your life. During longer group learning situations attendees say they experience significant changes that begin during the course and snowball after the course finishes.
